CALLOUT 107,108,109: Saturday afternoon was a little busy. It started with callout 107 responding to a request from Heddlu Dyfed Powys Police and Brecon Mountain Rescue Team to assist a man who had slipped coming down of Corn Ddu. He had a complex fracture of the lower leg. Working with Wales Air Ambulance team and Maritime and Coastguard Agency he was treated and then flown off to hospital.
108 While this call was underway we had a call from Gwent Police and Longtown Mountain Rescue Team to assist them in the Eastern part of the National park to assist the rescue of a young lady who’d slipped and broken her ankle on the mountain above Grwyne Y Fawr reservoir. On our arrival the lady was treated for her injuries and evacuated to hospital in Longtown’s 4×4
109 The third call of the day took us to the western side of the National park near Llanddeusant to a lady presenting our 3rd complex fracture of the lower leg of the day! The lady was enjoying a re-union with college friends. Working again with Brecon Mountain Rescue Team and Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust we treated and then packaged the lady up carried her off the hill and handed her over the the ambulance service. We wish all 3 of our casualties a speedy recovery.
