CALLOUT 103/17: Teatime yesterday the team was contacted by Heddlu Dyfed Powys Police to respond to a request for assistance from the Welsh Ambulance Services following reports of a 25yo male walker who had fallen in the waterfalls area near Ystradfellte.
Meeting WAST staff at the RV, team members and the RRV Paramedic made their way to into the gorge.
Fortunately with the assistance of another group walking in the area the casualty and his companion had managed to make their way out and arrived at the RV.
Having suffered a head injury he was initially assessed and treated by the ambulance crew at scene with the decision made to transfer him to hospital for further checks.
Our thanks to those who assisted the injured party, called the emergency services, provided first aid and transported them to the RV which saved a considerable amount of time.
We have subsequently been told our casualty was discharged from hospital later in the evening and we hope he will make a speedy recovery.
With the assistance of colleague from Brecon and Western Beacons MRTs who were also on route to the incident.
