Callout:No 136 of 2017.
Shortly before 6pm this evening we were called out by South Wales Police : Heddlu De Cymru to assist the rescue of an injured male on hillside above Ton Pentre, Rhondda.
We enlisted support from our friends at Western Beacons Mountain Search and Rescue Team. On arrival found that the gentleman had sustained potentially serious injuries while sledging on the snowy slopes.
Working alongside a team from Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust HART and Maritime and Coastguard Agency R187. Using stretcher and ropes we extricated the gentelman from the ravine to a spot suitable to be winched on board the helicopter.
