This afternoon Central Beacons were called to assist colleagues from Western Beacons Mountain Search and Rescue Team to rescue a teenage female had become unwell during an organised expedition.

Central Beacons along with colleagues from Brecon Mountain Rescue Team made our way to the casualty location where a young female who had lost consciousness a number of times after become unwell in additional to having become very cold.

After being checked over by a trained Mountain Rescue Casualty Carer and subsequently by a Team Doctor from Western Beacons Mountain Search and Rescue Team having been given both fluids for rehydration and food to replenish her energy levels, it was decided that the most appropriate course of action would be to stretcher the teenager off the hill. Following reassessment by the Team Doctor at that time, it was decided to convey the casualty onwards by waiting ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
