CALLOUT: At 04:20 this morning our Incident Controllers were contacted by Heddlu Dyfed Powys Police with regards to two walkers who had become lost and disoriented in the dark, low cloud and mist whilst out on a midnight walk in the Central Beacons area.
Having gone up one of the traditional paths to the top, they missed the route back down in the darkness as the weather closed in.
Having rung for assistance they remained where they were, with mobile phone contact allowing our Incident Controllers to determine their location based on the information provided and confirmed using Sarloc Rescue.
It was then a reasonably straightforward job for a hasty party to make their way onto the hill and meet up with the two guys.
Although cold, it hadn’t rained, so they were otherwise safe and well and able to make their way off alongside the MR troops.
Everyone was down in time for team members to quickly pack up and make their way home and head off to work.
Working alongside Brecon MRT, who kindly bought along their control vehicle.
