In October 2010 a team of civilian amputees will embark on the challenge of a lifetime to reach the summit of Kilimanjaro.

Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team provided safety cover for the 2010 Great Escape Challenge run by Marie Curie Cancer Care on Saturday 22nd May.

The Mountain Trail Challenge 2010 is now open for registration. This years challenge, taking place on the Saturday 18th September 2010, again offers two routes, a 20 mile and 30 mile route, accross the Brecon Beacons National Park.

The Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team is today hosting a day of outdoor events and activies for children from the Caerphilly Children's Center. 9 children with a range of mobility and learning difficulties and their parents are going to be learning how Mountain Rescue works and taking part in a series of activities which will take them through the range of things that Mountain Rescue do from working on a rockface to first aid and working with radios.

An incident for the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team this morning for a missing woman in the valleys north of Bridgend was stood down quickly when police found the missing woman safe and well.

Early on the morning of Sunday 22nd March, 2009, Gwent Police asked Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team for assistance in the search for a missing elderly gent in Tredegar.
