In October 2010 a team of civilian amputees will embark on the challenge of a lifetime to reach the summit of Kilimanjaro.

CBMRT provided them with vehicle cover for a days training in the Brecon Beacons in conditions described as 'weather to make the ducks stay home'!

Team hosts day for children from Caerphilly Children's Center

The Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team is today hosting a day of outdoor events and activies for children from the Caerphilly Children's Center. 9 children with a range of mobility and learning difficulties and their parents are going to be learning how Mountain Rescue works and taking part in a series of activities which will take them through the range of things that Mountain Rescue do from working on a rockface to first aid and working with radios.

An incident for the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team this morning for a missing woman in the valleys north of Bridgend was stood down quickly when police found the missing woman safe and well.

Team spends Mothers' Day searching for missing man

SARDA search dog and handler at workEarly on the morning of Sunday 22nd March, 2009, Gwent Police asked Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team for assistance in the search for a missing elderly gent in Tredegar.

The team responded with a number of members postponing their Mothers Day arrangements to help in the urgent search for Mr Rose, a frail and "easily confused" 86-year old man. The elderly gentleman had been missing since earlier on Saturday and police were at that time concerned for the gentleman's wellbeing. Responding to Tredegar Police Station, the team set about searching the area around Tredegar alongside a number of police officers. Also involved in the search was the police helicopter and two SARDA search dogs.
