Why we need your support

We are a charity staffed by unpaid volunteers.  Unlike other 999 services, around 95% of our funding comes from the generosity of the public making donations without which we would not be able to provide our life saving services. If you have any fundraising ideas, queries, require First Aid Cover for an event or require a sponsorship form please email

Project Phoenix

Help us secure our future

Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team needs your help.

Since November 2017, when our rescue base was damaged in a fire, weve been very lucky to have been given a temporary home by South Wales Fire & Rescue Service at Merthyr Fire Station.

But we need to make a few improvements, and to get some security gates installed to protect our vital lifesaving equipment.

Last year we rescued over 120 people thanks to the support we receive from donors.

Any donation, small or large, would be gratefully received towards our £7,500 target

Legacy gifts are vital in helping Central Beacons to be able to continue our work and support our future – even a small gift can make a big difference. And it’s the surest way to help us fund the equipment and training in the years to come as gifts are exempt from inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax, so we receive the full value of your bequest.

When leaving a legacy in your will to Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team you will need to include Your full name, registered charity address and registered charity number, as below: Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team 12 Edward VII Avenue,Newport NP20 4NF Registered Charity Number: 507694 However, if you want to be completely sure of the correct wording please use the examples in How to leave a legacy or seek professional advice from a solicitor.
